This is an interview with one of our lovely coworkers at Mindpark. Get to know Ulf Dahlin, who with Ridgeback Business Development leads the digital transformation of others.
Can you tell us a little about your company?
Ridgeback Business Development was started 14 years ago in 2007 and it is a business development company and we drive growth by interlinking business development, marketing and sales. We are good at driving growth, helping our clients grow.
5 years after I started the company, Ridgeback Business Development was named Sweden’s Strongest Agency, amongst more than 5,000 companies. We are still on that road. If you want to grow and you want to understand how to grow your business fast, we are the guys who do that. We have actually digitised every category from CD and DVD through clothes, furniture, building material. Now there are more and more business-to-business companies that understand the efficient digitalisation process. To be able to do that, you have to have a good business understanding, otherwise you are risking to start a lot of small projects that at not interlinked.
Where do you find the motivation for coming up with new things?
Within the team, together with our clients, before Corona we used to go to e-commerce conferences in Chicago and web conferences in Dublin etc. and of course, now in this pandemic times when you can’t meet as many people as you want, there are lot of blogs and everything from TEDx to Harvard Business Review, you name it. There are a lot of places where you can be inspired.
How did you get to know about Mindpark? What made you choose this place?
We had outgrown our former location. We had planned to get an office of our own but we wanted to concentrate on our clients businesses and on our staff, not on serving coffee or watering flowers or managing everything you need to have a good work space. So for us, it is about time management.
And so first actually we found the house because we wanted to move to Hyllie, it is well situated between Copenhagen and Malmö, close to the city and easy access by train, car, bus and we found the house and then Mindpark.
It was one of my colleagues who found the house and then I contacted Sanna, Mindpark’s CEO. We were completely open with her and we told her we were looking at some of the offices in this house at the 3rd and 4th floor. After some discussion, we realised this was a good set up for both of us. So we have six rooms and were the first ones to move in at Mindpark Hyllie. It is the way of renting that will continue to grow here.
Did networking at Mindpark or has any of the Mindpark coworkers helped you in any way for the growth of your company?
Yes, in some ways it did. Actually we’re working with some of the companies we knew already. Two or three of the coworkers that work here, are living in the village that I do. So we already had some connection. We have one joint company together with Plug and Trade, that are also one of your coworkers here at Mindpark.
