Bodil Tegsell – Tegsell Design and Boloform

What was your dream job when you were a child?
I wanted to be a fashion and costume designer. I made fashion sketches for paper dolls and then we had a dressmaker who sewed up the clothes.
What’s your current assignment and how did you end up there?
I studied at Deutsche Meisterschule für Mode in Munich after which I got a job as a fashion designer in Mexico City. Back in Sweden a couple of years later I worked as a graphic designer for several years and started my own company, Tegsell Design, in 1997. I also have another company, Boloform, established in 2012, with Lotte Karlefors where I make package designs.
Your role in the company? Describe the company and your service.
At Tegsell Design I create graphic profiles, posters, logotypes, layout and illustrations. I am also co-owner of Boloform where we design our own as well as customized gift products, e.g. tea and candy, trays, tins and other objects especially created for events and promotional purposes. We also offer product lines where the client can print a logotype and a message on the back of the product.
What would you give for advice to yourself, that you learned through your entrepreneurial journey, if you’d started the company today instead?
I would work on constantly training and educating myself further in order to keep updated on technology and professionally related matters. I would also put considerable effort into marketing and establishing good networks.
What do you think you’re doing in 5 years? Where do you want your business to be in 5 years?
That our Boloform products have received a lot of attention and a wide and reliable net of distributors, and that we have back-up staff to take care of the practical aspects of packing and logistics.
Why did you wan’t to be a part of the Mindpark community?
I’ve been at Mindpark for almost a year and I get very inspired by all the creative people who work in this place.
